Job Title: Lift Maintenance Manager/Electrician
Reports to: Lifts Manager Wage: DOE
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Status: Full Time/Year Round
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Safely inspect and complete the preparation of a lift for operational use
- Train entry level Lift Maintenance personnel in the proper operation of all lifts using main drive and auxiliary drives
- Perform weekly and monthly lift inspections, advanced preventative maintenance tasks, and most electrical repairs
- Develop and follow written procedures
- Troubleshoot advanced mechanical/electrical component discrepancies or failures
- Possess working knowledge of lift service and maintenance documentation, safety bulletins, drawings and parts catalogues, and industry specific codes and requirements
- Prepare required documentation with maintenance related software
- Possess working knowledge of general mechanical/electrical concepts and principles as related to hydraulics, lubrications, power transmission, and rotating machinery as well as basic electricity
- Possess working knowledge of industry related tasks such as rigging and lifting, general ropeway maintenance principles and procedures, and industrial safety
- Safely operate various over the snow and wheeled vehicles
- Begin specializing in specific lift maintenance skills such as schematic upgrades, battery maintenance, electric motor maintenance, line circuitry maintenance, drive machinery maintenance, control systems, drive functions, over all troubleshooting of circuits etc.
- Document repairs, labor and materials on work orders
- Assist in the electrical training and development of other departmental personnel
- Ensure company meets all ANSI, OSHA, USFS, and Federal requirements in regard to lifts.
- Facilitate all annual and seasonal inspections, testing, and permitting according to both insurance and Federal requirements.
- Maintain inventory control and order parts and supplies.
- Assure that all records are maintained and kept up-to-date, including all mechanical and operational procedures, daily maintenance, operational logs, lift failures, and incidents.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability during abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions.

Required:
- Extensive mechanical/electrical maintenance skills, knowledge, and successful experience.
- Working knowledge of all types of electrical equipment including DC motors, DC variable speed drives, battery powered low voltage 24VDC controls.
- Able to read electrical schematics and understand symbols and many different manufacturer schematic layouts.
- Comfortable using heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, line equipment, rigging, and electrical equipment.
- Intermediate or better proficiency in downhill skiing or snowboarding and ability to operate a snowmobile.
- Ability to work on high structures, outside, and under inclement weather.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and legal documents.
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and direct employees, serve customers, and maintain excellent customer service during high stress situations.
- Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic economic, budgeting, and accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team.
- Safety orientated and able to train employees on safety procedures of equipment used.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations.
- Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
- Available to work holidays and/or weekends.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus, but not required.
Experience/Education:
Required:
- Five years lift maintenance experience.
- Expertise of mechanical concepts and principles as related to hydraulics, lubrications, power transmission, rotating machinery, and electricity.
- Familiarity with state and federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge of the ski industry.
Preferred:
- A Certificate or Degree that has a relevant application to the field of Lift Maintenance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to handle objects, tools, or controls. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 10-hour work shift and lifting and moving 100 lbs. or more. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and snow and ice, shovel snow, bend, climb, and stoop for extended periods of time. Must ski or snowboard at an intermediate to expert skill level. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside winter weather conditions with high winds, heavy snowfall, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures. They will be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, noise, risk of electric shock, moving mechanical parts, and work in high places. Employee expected to work and with dirty, greasy equipment.
