JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:Filth Fighter HOUSEKEEPER
EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Seasonal, Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Crew Leader throughout the day while on a crew/Supervisor in charge while in the laundry.
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To have assigned cabins and lodge rooms cleaned by check-in time and to meet the expectations of the supervisors and guests.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1.       Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude towards co-workers and guests.
2.       Reflect YMCA core values in all functions - caring, honesty, responsibility & respect.
3.       Clean cabins and lodge rooms.
4.       Clean lobbies and public areas.
5.       Work on a crew with three to five co-workers.
6.       Efficiently clean guest accommodations including the following tasks: clean fireplaces, vacuum and dust, strip linens and make beds, wash windows, clean toilets, sinks and showers, empty trash, mop and sweep floors, and clean ovens, etc.
7.       Work a 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM shift. Housekeepers will get off work earlier or later to adjust with the workload. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
8.       Work with various types of cleaning chemicals.
9.       Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
10.   Assist commercial laundry attendants with the folding of linens.
11.   Complete maid service in required rooms.
12.   Reflect YMCA core values in all functions caring, honesty, responsibility, respect & faith.
 
OTHER DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS:
1.       Be approved to drive YMCA vehicles.
2.       All Laundry and Housekeeping areas cleaned before leaving at the end of the day.
3.       Other duties as assigned.
 
DRESS CODE:
In addition to the grooming standards outlined in the Seasonal Staff Handbook, the following applies to the Housekeeping department:
 
Three shirts with the YMCA of the Rockies logo will be issued to each employee from May to August and December to April. You will be required to wear these shirts while on duty. A neat and clean appearance is required at all times. Jeans, slacks and sweatpants are acceptable but shorts are not. Only sandals with heel straps are accepted. Post earrings are allowed, but hoops and dangles are not.
