Requires the ability to lead interpretive/educational day hikes of up to 6 hours duration for adults and children. Hikes go to elevations up to 11,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains. Our start point at Snow Mountain Ranch (SMR) is 8,750 feet above sea level. Together with excellent customer service skills, volunteer hike leaders need to be in excellent physical condition with current First Aid and CPR certification. Knowledge of mountain ecology is useful. Some evening hours work may be required.
Volunteers report to the Department Head or any other supervisor he/she designates. For any position a supervisor may assign other duties from time to time which are required to ensure efficient and timely completion of overall Snow Mountain Ranch goals. Teaming within and across departments is expected.
