Recreation Custodial Supervisor ($200/wk plus room & board

POSITION: Recreation Custodial Supervisor

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Seasonal, Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Program Director

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Completes custodial duties of  recreational facilities and other indoor and outdoor program functions including: tubing hill, ice rink, roller skating rink, Nordic center.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Possess supervisory and communication skills. 
  2. Custodial duties include clean, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and refill restroom dispensers.  
  3. Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure. 
  4. Use and maintain buffers, vacuums, brooms, and mops for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.  
  5. Must have current CPR and 1st Aid certifications.
  6. Work with people of all ages.
  7. Know and implement all safety procedures when needed.
  8. Uphold and adhere to the policies of Snow Mountain Ranch and the Program Department.
  9. Read and speak English.
  10. Previous experience working with people in the service, recreation or teaching areas.
  11. Project a positive attitude towards guests and staff.
  1. Work as attendant for recreation facilities or programs including Kiva,   program building, snowshoe hikes, climbing wall, etc.
  1. Supervise guests within the facilities for which you are responsible.
  2. Make change and balance cash box.
  3. Lift up to 40 pounds.
  4. Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests and staff.
  5. Reflect YMCA core values in all functions - caring, honesty, responsibility, respect & faith.

 

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work at our roller-skating rink and winter sledding hill
  2. Maintain and set-up of recreation facilities if used as a meeting space.
  3. Work in all environments including outdoors in potentially cold and snowy weather.
  4. Train peers.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

 

DRESS CODE:

In addition to the grooming standards outlined in the Seasonal Staff Handbook, the following applies to

Recreation Attendants:

A staff vest or three shirts with the YMCA of the Rockies logo will be issued to each seasonal employee from

May to August and December to April. You will be required to wear this uniform while on duty. A neat and

clean appearance is required at all times. Shorts, jeans, are acceptable. Earrings are allowed, however, hoops may be no larger than 1/2". Excessive jewelry may be restricted.
