Maintenance Technician and Driver

This position is responsible for janitorial, grounds keeping, building maintenance, winter maintenance, driving Center vehicles and for building opening and closing.  Janitorial duties include non-power sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, wiping and disinfecting of indoor and outdoor restrooms, office and dining areas, as well as the safe operation of power industrial cleaning machines.  Maintenance duties include power and non power hand tool repairs and construction, both on and off ladders or man-lifts.  Responsibilities will also include summer grounds keeping, winter snow removal and winter surface melting and sanding.  This position assists with the security of the Center by responding to HVAC, fire and burglar alarms, building system alerts and maintaining a safe work environment.  Additional responsibilities will include operating ANHC vehicles to safely transport customers to and from the Center, picking up and dropping off High School Program students, picking up and/or delivery of facility maintenance supplies, vending supplies, board packets and occasionally dropping off ANHC vehicles for repair, tire changes, car washing, and fueling.  You should be familiar with MSDS data and with safety manuals and regulations.  Will also include helping set up and tear down events under the direction of other departments.  Responsible for the evening lock down of facility, ensuring all doors and windows are secured, alarm is activated, and gates are locked. 

To qualify for this position, you will need a minimum of 1-2 years experience in general maintenance, one year janitorial and grounds keeping skills and must be able to operate a 15-passenger van. You should also have experience with various hand tools and be able to lift or carry up to 60 lbs.  You will also need a High School Diploma or equivalent. You will need a valid Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record, with class C CDL preferred.  Must be willing to work weekends and evenings when scheduled or on an on-call basis.
