Language Program Admin

JOB STATEMENT/PURPOSE

The Language Department Admin will be responsible for working with the Director of Cultural and Educational Program and other staff, including the Grant Administrator, in the development of a Language Program Department over the next three to six months. The vision of the Language Program Department is to serve as a resource for all the languages of the Indigenous communities of Alaska for the purpose of education, preservation and celebration. This position will largely be tasked with beginning the process of gathering information, compiling resources, and establishing partnerships focused on statewide instruction of Indigenous languages.  

The position will participate in the development of new programs, in preparing comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets to help eventually contribute to the operation of a language department. Perform various coordinating tasks, like administrative duties, and maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries.
