Kitchen Dishwasher

Position: Kitchen Dishwasher

Job Category: Part-Time/Seasonal

Reports to: Executive Chef

Rate: $16.75/hour

General Description:

Kitchen dishwashers are the supportive staff of the kitchen team and must have a willingness to perform whatever work that needs to be done as well as help where help is needed in order to provide the highest quality of customer service possible. Great entry level intro to culinary career.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Arrive in the kitchen at scheduled time, rested and ready for work with hands washed, nails clean, hair tidy, and in a clean uniform.
Preform pre-opening set-up duties and has station ready 10 minutes before opening.
Prepare food according to established recipes and procedures.
Clean, sanitize, and organized dish room.
Oversee food quality.
Make sure closing duties are properly finished, inventory complete, and requisitions are done.
Performs closing and cleaning duties according to procedures.
Maintain all equipment according to procedure.
Check in and out with Chef to be sure all duties are done.
Responsible for checking his/her own schedule daily and arriving for work according to schedule.
Operate and maintain the dish washing machines. Also checking to be certain the machines are fully supplied and functioning.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge or experience in the food service industry or previous experience in similar position. Skills: Must be able to understand English, or to temporarily communicate with the help of a temporary interpreter, to the extent that all job expectations and requirements are understood and fulfilled. Abilities: Demonstrates, and consistently practices, a willingness to perform whatever work needs to be done, and to help where help is needed. demonstrate dependability and efficiency when working without direct supervision. Must be able to follow directions, asking questions until he/she is certain the directions are understood.

Special Requirements:

King County food worker health card.
Must comply at all times with company uniform, appearance, and behavioral expectations

Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities:

Fast paced environment. Positive attitude is a must. Dishwashers must be committed to becoming and working as, part of the kitchen team. Dishwashers come in contact with or are exposed to: Heated dishes, varying degrees of temperature, noise, water, wet working conditions, and sharp tools. Must be available to work all weekends and holidays during the Emerald Downs live racing season. Communicate with other staff, leadership, and guests with courtesy and respect. All kitchen personnel must also follow all state, county, and company health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times. Able to meet the physical requirements of, but not limited to: Standing and walking for a minimum of eight hours a day. Lifting up to 50 pounds at or above shoulder height on a regular basis. Using a variety of body movements such as twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Using sight and hearing abilities in normal ranges

Dishwasher, kitchen utensils, food, dishes, cleaning agents, and other kitchen or cleaning equipment.
