Rate: $16.75/hour

General Description:

Kitchen dishwashers are the supportive staff of the kitchen team and must have a willingness to perform whatever work that needs to be done as well as help where help is needed in order to provide the highest quality of customer service possible.  Great entry level intro to culinary career.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge or experience in the food service industry or previous experience in similar position. Skills: Must be able to understand English, or to temporarily communicate with the help of a temporary interpreter, to the extent that all job expectations and requirements are understood and fulfilled. Abilities: Demonstrates, and consistently practices, a willingness to perform whatever work needs to be done, and to help where help is needed. demonstrate dependability and efficiency when working without direct supervision. Must be able to follow directions, asking questions until he/she is certain the directions are understood.

Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities:

Fast paced environment. Positive attitude is a must. Dishwashers must be committed to becoming and working as, part of the kitchen team. Dishwashers come in contact with or are exposed to: Heated dishes, varying degrees of temperature, noise, water, wet working conditions, and sharp tools. Must be available to work all weekends and holidays during the Emerald Downs live racing season. Communicate with other staff, leadership, and guests with courtesy and respect. All kitchen personnel must also follow all state, county, and company health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times. Able to meet the physical requirements of, but not limited to: Standing and walking for a minimum of eight hours a day. Lifting up to 50 pounds at or above shoulder height on a regular basis. Using a variety of body movements such as twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Using sight and hearing abilities in normal ranges

Tools & Equipment:

Dishwasher, kitchen utensils, food, dishes, cleaning agents, and other kitchen or cleaning equipment.
