Job Category: Seasonal/Hourly (Feb/Mar- Oct/Nov) .....(2021 season May - Sept)
Reports to: Track Superintendent
Use a John Deere 8000 series tractor pulling an implement and/or driving a water truck with side booms to groom the track surface for racing and training in a safe manner within a limited time frame. Some manual labor is required. Willing to train candidates with appropriate aptitude. Must adhere to strict Covid-19 safety protocols.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Water truck driver:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation. Knowledge of tools including repair and maintenance. Able to drive manual transmission and automatic. Able to use hand tools, power tools, sledgehammers, shovels, rakes, etc.
Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities:
Regularly work near moving horses. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside wet weather conditions.. Work under close supervision of Track Superintendent. Provide information to and collect information from other departments. Coordinate projects and solve problems involving other departments. Use two-way radios to communicate with supervisors and other members of track crew. Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
Tools & Equipment:
Equipment, vehicles, and tools used for farming, landscaping, and racetrack maintenance.
