Job Title:   Rental/Repair Manager

Reports to:  Director of Base Operations                                                Wage: DOE

Exempt/Non-Exempt:  Exempt

Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of the equipment rental and repair shop

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Works with Human Resources to interview, hire, train, and appraise performance of rental/repair employees
• Provides supervision and guidance to employees in accordance with Red Lodge Mountain policies and employment laws
• Oversees purchasing of all rental and repair equipment
• Ensures and maintains compliance with all regulatory organizations
• Manages staff in a proactive, feedback driven environment
• Coordinates activities of rental/repair shop with other departments as needed
• Ensures customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently
• Serves on the Sustainability and Safety Committees
• Ensures accurate scheduling and payroll through Kronos Workforce System
• Performs any duty of the rental/repair department as staffing levels require
• Develops and manages the rental/repair department budget
• Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operations and ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations
• Responds to guest and employee complaints in a swift and positive manner
• Conducts regular employee safety meetings within the Rental/Repair Department
• Effectively communicates with other employees/managers in person and via telephone, two-way radio, and email

• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lead and direct employees, serve customers, and maintain good service during intense conditions
• Must have strong computer skills
• Ability to analyze trends and situations in industry and turn them into business opportunities
• Demonstrates good judgment by analyzing the impact of decisions on the rest of the organization 
• Must monitor multiple priorities and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines
• Must have flexibility in work schedule; including weekends and holidays 
• Ability to tune and repair skis/snowboards and adjust bindings

Experience/ Education

Required:

• Three years experience in Rental/Repair shop
• Prior experience in supervisory position

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see and hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Must be capable of walking or standing 70-100% of a normal 8 hour work shift.  Must be capable of frequently lifting loads of 20-40 lbs or more, and continuously carrying loads of 20-40 lbs.  Must be capable of frequent bending, reaching, and climbing movements on even terrain, walking on uneven terrain, and walking on snow, ice and uphill. Must be able to kneel and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate. Harsh weather conditions will occasionally be encountered en route to work.

I understand that employment with Red Lodge Mountain is “at will” for no definite period of time.  The employee may terminate employment at any time without notice or cause, and so too can Red Lodge Mountain terminate the employment relationship at any time without notice or cause.
