Job Title: Information Technology (IT) Manager
Reports to: Assistant General Manager Wage: DOE
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Status: Full Time/Year Round
Job Summary: The IT Manager oversees all information technology operations at Red Lodge Mountain. Accountable for all information technology goals while contributing to overall company goals and initiatives.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
- Maintain a current working knowledge of a variety of technologies to be able to provide needed support throughout the company. Required technologies include windows-based networking, database administration, telephone systems, credit card processing, email systems, and point of sale software.
- Maintain efficient and optimal operation of Microsoft SQL Server based databases and develop custom reports and procedures as needed to collect and use data of value to the company.
- Analyze existing hardware and software to determine opportunities to upgrade to newer technologies with an emphasis on improved operation and cost savings.
- Work with department managers to provide department-specific IT solutions.
- Install workstations, printers, and other devices as needed ensuring proper function and connection to the network.
- Resolve issues with user computers, printers, network connections, and/or phones as needed.
- Monitor status of network, network servers, and software; facilitate resolution of issues as needed.
- Provide status reports, including suggestions for improvement, to supervisor.
- Suggest training ideas for users based upon interaction while resolving user issues.
- Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of department processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
- Work with Human Resources to interview, hire, train, and appraise performance of IT staff.
- Provide supervision and guidance to IT staff in accordance with RLM policies and State/Federal employment laws.
- Maintain IT Department work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, reviews, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources when necessary.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare periodic reports for the company, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with employees, managers, directors, general manager, and other designated contacts within the organization.
- Responsible for promoting a positive attitude within the organization; maintain and enhance a team-oriented culture with all departments and demonstrate a collaborative attitude.
- Respond to guest and employee complaints appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Assist subordinates and other departments in performing duties whenever necessary.

Required:
- Working understanding of LAN / WAN networking structure.
- Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve issues with LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, workstations, printers, and other peripherals.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012 including report builder.
- Basic understanding of phone systems.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Red Lodge Mountain.
- Ability to delegate responsibility, motivate, and lead direct reports to achieve goals and objectives.

- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations.
- Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
- Available to work holidays and/or weekends.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Experience/Education
Required:
- 4 year degree in either computer science or business management or commensurate experience.
- 1-3 years previous experience in the IT environment at the manager level.
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with RTP point of sale software
Preferred:
- MCSA – Data Platform Certification
- 3+ years of experience in database programming / administration, preferably with user support.
- In-depth experience with PBX based analog/digital phone systems.
- Experience in the ski industry.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to travel to maintain equipment at mid-mountain and at the summit of the mountain.

Small office environment. Harsh weather conditions may be encountered en route to work and during on mountain assignments.
