Job Title: Banquet Lead

Reports to: Banquet Manager Wage: $10.00 - $12.00/Hour DOE

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Status: Full/Part Time Seasonal

Job Summary: Assist in planning events, set-up, and directing execution of events. Serve plated and buffet meals as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests of various events at the Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course and Golf Shop. Act as front-of-house staff lead and on-site customer contact.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Must commit to 90% of booked events for season (beginning May 1st of each year) upon hire.
Attend planning meetings with the Sales & Guest Services Manager to help with the entire coordination of various events (including working with F&B Manager).
Act as the on-site guest event contact for wedding & banquet questions and concerns during events as well as at the Golf Course for phone and email inquiries.
Be front-of-house lead for banquet staff and clients to direct event operations and answer questions.
Conduct venue tours for prospective clients interested in booking the Clubhouse.
Ensure customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
Set-up the Clubhouse for weddings, meetings, dinners, tournaments, and other events. This includes formal table settings along with some audio/visual set-up.
Break down and clean up after all events.
Take orders, serve food and beverages, and ring up bills for banquet guests.
Serve cocktails, wine, and beer.
Serve plated and buffet meals, and clear dishes away from tables.
Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money, and give change using a point of sale system.
Process credit card transactions and accurately enter tip amounts.
Stock and clean wait staff area.
Wipe down tables and chairs and vacuum/mop floors daily.

Required:

Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers
Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays/nights

Experience/Education:

Required:

State of Montana Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training Program certificate

Preferred:

Experience in the food service industry
Experience in banquet service
Bartending experience
Prior experience working with the public
Cash handling experience
Knowledge of the golf industry

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and smell. The employee is frequently required to handle objects, tools, or controls. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 50+ lbs. Must be capable of walking on uneven ground, bending, stooping, and sitting for extended periods of time. Employee may be required to drive a company vehicle to haul trash and/or equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally work in humid conditions. There will be occasional exposure to sharp and/or hot objects. They will be occasionally exposed to extreme cold and wet conditions. Harsh weather conditions may be encountered en route to work. Shifts can exceed 12 hours at a time and routinely end after midnight.
