Job Title:   Golf Course Bartender

                      

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager                                                          Wage: DOE Tips

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt                                                                 Status: Full-Time/Part-Time Seasonal

                                                                                                                                               

Job Summary: Serves alcoholic beverages at the Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
  • General bartending duties; prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beer.
  • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money, and give change using a point of sales system.
  • Process credit card transactions and accurately enter tip amounts.
  • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
  • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.
  • Stock and clean bar area.
  • Take out garbage/recycling daily, clean, and mop behind bar.
  • Organize and clean cooler area.
  • May perform duties of Golf Course waitstaff and/or cook as necessary.

Required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with guests, co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol.
  • Ability to work varied schedule including weekends/holidays.

Experience/ Education

Required:

  • State of Montana Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training Program certificate
  • Experience tending bar.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with the public.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Knowledge of the golf industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk and hear.  Employees must be capable of standing and or walking 90% of a normal 8 hour work shift. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasional work in humid conditions.  There will be occasional exposure to sharp and/or hot objects. They will occasionally be exposed to extreme cold and wet conditions.  Harsh weather conditions may be encountered en route to work.
