Job Summary: Provide general computer and network maintenance and support relating to users, software, and network devices.  Provide preliminary trouble-shooting and problem-solving in the absence of IT Manager.  Staffs the IT office during business hours for prompt end-user support. 

 

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of network, operating system, and application software being used to provide support to users.
  • Learn/help administer RTP POS System.  Build RTP products and maintain a working knowledge of top-level access processes.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
  • Set up accounts for new users and unlock existing accounts.
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
  • Install workstations and printers as requested ensuring proper function and connection to the network.
  • Resolve issues with user computers, printers, network connections, phones, mobile scan guns, and other electronics as needed, including devices in remote locations around the mountain.
  • Monitor status of network and network servers and facilitate resolution of issues as needed.
  • Provide status reports, including input and suggestions, to the Assistant General Manager.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with employees, managers, directors, general manager, and other designated contacts within the organization.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with department heads and end-users.
  • Work cohesively and share information with other IT staff.
  • Assist as needed with ski area logistics work including shoveling snow.

Required:

  • Base understanding of relational databases.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong user support and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve basic issues with Microsoft Windows based LAN, WAN, workstations, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, including organizational units and least privilege security models.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard.

Experience/Education

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Experience with RTP or similar POS program.
  • Experience with Office 365 Hosted Exchange.
  • Experience with websites.

The employee often is required to use computers.  This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also requires the ability to maintain equipment at mid-mountain and other locations around the mountain that may only be accessible by skiing or snowboarding.
