Food and Beverage Event Manager

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. As the Food and Beverage Event Manager, you will organize all aspects of an event held at the lodge, ensuring guest satisfaction. You will have a range of duties in order to assist the wait staff including:

Assist Food and Beverage FOH Operations Manager in achieving revenue goals set for events and catering
Ensure excellent guest service is provided for all events and conduct evaluations of services provided after the completion of an event
Responsible for maintaining and distributing information for all Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge functions/events
Create, maintain, and distribute Banquet Event orders on a daily/weekly basis

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Demonstrates knowledge of professional catering/convention services management skills, including sales and marketing skills
Ability to plan, organize, motivate and direct others in a team environment in the achievement of goals and objectives
Well-organized and self-directed; ability to develop methods of facilitating operating efficiency, cost and control
Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare and submit comprehensive reports
Knowledge of alcohol management (TAP card)
Work effectively under pressure and able to meet deadlines while maintaining composure in difficult situations
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work, make decisions, solve problems, exercise good judgment and work independently with minimal supervision
Must be 21 years or older
Minimum of three years’ senior level experience in similar-sized operation
Post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field viewed advantageous
