WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Denali Backcountry Lodge. As a Line Cook, you will prepare food to the exact Chef’s specifications and set up stations for menu. The Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the Executive and Sous Chefs with their daily tasks. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities such as:
- Regularly prepare and cook large quantities of food
- Set up and maintain food stations
- Prepare food for dining room service and for the following shift as needed
- Keep work areas clean and sanitized at all times
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff using standard recipes and presentations as indicated
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of proper and up-to-date food handling and health standards
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver 50 pounds regularly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
