THE ALASKA COLLECTION
This full-time role will serve as a key contributor to the Alaska Collection team by driving financial acumen, efficient processes, and business partnership across the organization. This position will work alongside the Alaska Senior Leadership team and the Pursuit Finance team to drive insight on current business, new opportunities, and suggest ways to improve financial results. The financial analyst will have a strong ownership of financial performance with an ability to anticipate and adapt to an ever-changing industry. This role reports to the Director of Finance with a dotted line to the Vice President, General Manager of the Alaska Collection.
/ Ownership of the budget and forecast process for Alaska and long-range planning activities
/ Daily partnership with Alaska operations teams and leadership
/ Maintains efficient labor and expense controls and models
/ Drives consistent monthly close process and financial reporting
/ Provides financial advice to the Leadership Team with recommendations on new business strategies, operations, acquisitions, and other investments.
/ Ensures that capital investment proposals are properly evaluated, challenged, and supported
/ Maintains an opinion of the current industry and market environment
/ Travel to operating locations and understand the product and competitive advantage
Ideal Skills and Experience
/ Minimum undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting
/ 3+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or analytical business roles
/ Previous experience working in the Tourism/Hospitality Industry
/ Experience in the use of finance and accounting systems and Microsoft Office products; BI360/Great Plains/D365 experience preferred
/ History of cultivating relationships and working on teams across all levels of an organization and being able to influence decision-makers to drive speed and performance within the organization
/ Experience evaluating business proposals with effective use of investment decision making tools such as Discounted Cash Flow and Internal Rate of Return models
