SUMMARY: Provides technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives that improves the organization in a constantly changing environment and aligns the information strategies with the business strategies. Is well versed in the strategy, execution, and management of an IT infrastructure, which includes overseeing technical projects, working with engineers, directing networks and development processes, researching new products, presenting proposals to senior executives, identifying market opportunities, and taking the lead to improve the company's IT processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
Oversees all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluates them according to established goals.
Devises and establishes IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
Prepares, controls and reports on financial budgets and monitors Capital and Operational Budgets.
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and/or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Reviews project status by project personnel, modifies schedules or plans as needed, provides advice to resolve problems and reports progress to Leadership team and the Board.
Establishes work plan and staffing of the project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Confers regularly with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
Analyzes the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
Consults with management to determine information requirements of departments, to determine priorities of new projects, and to discuss systems capabilities.
Identifies the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and reports to upper management.
Sponsors collaborative planning processes for the implementation of new technology.
Researches new products, presenting proposals to senior executives, identifying market opportunities, and taking the lead to improve the company's IT processes.
Interacts with external and internal customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provides enabling technologies that make it easier for our customers both external and internal to do their business and increase profitability.
Evaluates new software and hardware to determine the value to the organization.
Purchases efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
Establishes strategic relationships with suppliers and IT Vendors.
Hires, develops and retains high quality IT professionals.
Provides leadership and training to IT/IS staff and all users of the system to ensure productive use of the tools.
Establishes staffing patterns appropriate to areas of responsibility.
Evaluates direct reporting employees.
In cooperation with department heads, assumes responsibility for compliance with regulatory/accreditation guidelines.
Develops Quality Assessment plans in cooperation with department heads.
Actively supports and participates in hospital-wide Performance Improvement Plan.
Demonstrates high standards in HIPAA privacy practices. Job Duties require access to and availability of PHI on a daily basis.
Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
Complies with System policies and procedures.
Other duties as may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and direction work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred: Current valid Driver’s License.
OTHER EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer five years' experience in the Management of Information Services departments. Strong business orientation and broad experience in the healthcare industry managing IT activities. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
