SUMMARY: Provides application and technical support to end users on a variety of issues within the organization. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Participates in the implementation of various IT projects. Works with the Help Desk and Technical Support team to install end user equipment and networking equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
Responds to technical support requests submitted via the IT work request system, telephone calls, and email to assist users encountering computer or system problems.
Assists with the installation of equipment, assists in the installation of phones and patching workstations to the network. Installation of Monitors, printers and scanners.
Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
Documents, tracks, and monitors technical support problems to ensure a timely resolution.
Develops a plan of work to accomplish departmental and organizational work projects.
Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.
Installs, configures, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software.
Assists users and provides support for Microsoft applications, including but not limited to: Windows Server , Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Visio and Outlook.
Assists users with varying degrees of expertise in the use of computer and network operating systems.
Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
Complies with System policies and procedures.
Other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical degree in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in an IT-related area preferred.
OTHER EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Microsoft Windows 2003, Microsoft XP Professional and Windows Office Applications experience necessary. Windows Terminal Services, Thin Client Set-up, CITRIX, AS400 experience preferred.
COMPUTER/BUSINESS SKILLS: Ability to enter and retrieve data from hospital computer system. Extensive knowledge of word processing, data base and department specific computer programs.
