Yellowstone Forever is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. We partner with Yellowstone National Park to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Yellowstone forever. Our combined operations include 11 educational Park Stores with gross sales of over $5.1 million; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers more than 600 in-depth programs each year; a supporter program of over 50,000 Yellowstone enthusiasts raising funds to support critical park priority projects; and an online community of over 300,000 worldwide. Yellowstone Forever has provided over $100 million of cash support and over $55 million of in-kind support since 1933. Our mission of engagement and support through education and fundraising for the park will ensure Yellowstone remains for generations to come.
The Information Specialist plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, and is responsible for answering incoming calls in a timely and courteous manner. Information Specialists are often the first point of contact for Yellowstone Forever supporters, program participants, customers and visitors. This position also provides processing support for Yellowstone Forever’s course registration, supporter information, and education retail sales. Success in this position requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as an in-depth knowledge of Yellowstone National Park.
Provide exceptional customer service to all supporters, program participants, customers and visitors by phone, email, and personal contact
Answer phone calls to Yellowstone Forever in a timely and courteous manner
Process payments and information from YF supporters
Register participants into YF Institute programs, ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork
Complete web and phone orders for education-retail sales
Ensure a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail regarding all contact center functions
Provide the Contact Center Manager with regular, timely, and consistent communication of status for process improvements
Work collaboratively with YF employees, volunteers, and partners
Represent Yellowstone Forever and its mission accurately and positively
Other tasks as assigned by the Contact Center Manager, or other designated leadership
Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Proficient with the use of and ability to learn technology
Self-motivated with a sound approach to problem solving and timely task completion
Ability to represent YF in a courteous and professional manner
A satisfactory criminal background check are conditions of employment
Customer service experience
Call center experience
Experience working in a non-profit environment
Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park
This is a part time, temporary position based in Gardiner, Montana. This is a non-exempt position, with overtime paid for hours in excess of 40 hours per week. Hourly wage is based upon experience. Yellowstone Forever employees receive a 30% discount on most Park Stores products and a free Yellowstone Forever Institute Field Seminar each year. Discounts on other courses and products are also offered.
